Why didn’t I hear about this?   They remastered freakin’ Star Trek! I happened to see an episode on tv (FOX i think) today and was like, “Since when could you pull that shit with model ships on wires?”  The answer of course is you can’t, so I checked out the website (see link above) and turns out they’re doing the whole series for the 40th aniversity.  You’d think they’d advertise this shit…..Anyway, they did a really good job.  The video is really clear and the re-recording of the music is really done well–same notes just sharper.  They took a lot of care when they reanimated the scenes of the ships in space, it isn’t obvious and flashy, just pulling off some interesting angles without added any new crap.  Which is fine ’cause half the fun of watching TOS is the hilarity the ensues from watching outdated material (I mean that as a complement). Anyway, if you get a chance, you should check it out. If you can’t find it on TV you can get it off iTunes.
